1.      Individuals who need hours to qualify for EI – Foreperson, Brush cutters and Burners are required by Random North Development Association to clear brush along the roadside on Random Island and Southwest Arm. Foreman must have experience in measuring and recording timber.  All applicants must have own safety gear.  Brush cutters must have own chainsaws. Salaries are; Foreperson $9.50/hr, Brush cutters $6.75/hr plus $2.00/ hr for chainsaws, Burners $6.75/hr. 2.      White Hills Ski Resort has part time positions for the following: lift operator, rental shop/cashier/technician, cafeteria/cashier, Pro Patrol, Ski School Director.

  Lift Attendant/Operator will complete daily logs of maintenance checks, conduct safety checks,         maintain loading and off loading ramps, keep signage and chairs clear of snow, check customer lift       passes, assist customers on and off lifts and other duties as required.

  Rental Shop/Technician/Cashier will assist customers with ski/snowboards boots and poles, write      up information for groups and other duties as required.

  Cafeteria/Cashier will prepare food, serve on food line cashier, sweep and maintain washrooms and    assist in other areas as needed.

  Ski Patrol will maintain the safety of all customers and of equipment on the slopes, perform sweep to   ensure that all customers are off the hill and assume responsibility for daily logs.

  Ski Instructor will instruct on skiing and skiing safety and other related duties as required.

  Snowboard Instructor will instruct on snowboarding and safety of, maintain Snowboard Park and       other related duties as required.

Foreperson must have minimum 5 years experience, supervisory and carpentry skills in installation and removal of doors and windows, installation of siding, plastering and painting. This candidate must also have communication skills, knowledge of health and safety regulations, experience in record keeping and time management skills. Carpenters must have good communications skills, able to follow directions, minimum 3 years experience in completing renovations to buildings including removal and installation of doors and windows, installation of siding, and plastering and painting.  Labourers must have good communication skills, able to follow directions and experienced in completing renovations to buildings. 4.        Foreperson/carpenter (1) Chainsaw operators (6) Burners/Labourers (10) required for a 12 week project with Random North Development Association to repair and reconstruct the railway bridge in George’s Brook and brush cutting on the rail bed from Clarenville to Lethbridge.  Foreperson must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a supervisor, knowledge of bridge modification, communication skills, knowledge of health and safety regulations, record keeping and time management skills. Chainsaw operators must have a minimum of 3 years experience with chainsaw operation, able to follow directions, knowledge of health and safety regulations and knowledge of bridge repairs. Burners/Labourers must have the same minus the chainsaw operation experience. All applicants must have safety boots, chainsaw pants, hard hat with visor and muffs. All applicants must be in receipt of EI or be EI eligible. One applicant must have First Aid training. 5.        Foreperson(1) Carpenter (1) Labourers (2) required for a 12 week project with Heritage Collegiate in Lethbridge to complete construction of a ball field including spreading sand, installation of fencing, construction of bleachers. Positions are temporary full-time. Each participant must have their own safety equipment and one person must have First Aid training. 6.        Foreperson (1) Carpenters (2) Labourers (2) Researcher (1) required for a 8 week project with the Clarenville Area Recreation Association to complete work on The Causeway Trail including stairway, viewing decks, signage, brush cutting and completion of trail to join onto Bare Mountain Trail. The positions are temporary full-time, 40 hours per week. Salaries are $413.00, $400.00, $350.00 and $400.00 respectively. Foreperson must have supervisory skills and able to work well with others.  Carpenters must have carpentry experience and researcher must have experience in sign design and layout, researching designs, and compliance with sign standards. All participants must be receipt of EI or be EI eligible, one person must have First Aid training. All participants must have their own safety equipment. 7.        Carpenters (2) Labourers (6) are required for a 14 week project with the Harbour Authority of Plate Cove to complete enhancements to wharf facilities. Duties will include shingling multiple buildings; installing vinyl siding, windows and doors; repairing foundation of Twine Shed; constructing a wheelchair ramp; and demolishing & removing 2 small buildings. Knowledge and experience in carpentry would be an asset as well as a valid First Aid Certificate and/or an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Participants must have their own tools and safety equipment. Foreperson must be an experienced carpenter with supervisory experience. Labourers with carpentry skills will be considered an asset.  All workers must provide their own tools and safety equipment. One person must have valid First Aid Certificate and applicants must be in receipt of EI or be EI eligible. 10.  Rail Map Developer (2) is required PENDING FUNDING APPROVAL by the Random North Development Association for eighteen (18) weeks to develop a map of the rail bed going from Goobies to Terra Nova. The applicants will record the various communities along with the tourist outlets such as hotels, B & B’s, gas stations, etc. The successful applicant should possess the following: Must have a Degree in Geographical Information Systems and/or Coastal Mapping/Management; Must demonstrate knowledge in map development; experience in properly recording collected inventory date; Knowledge of trails development; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work under minimal supervision; Must display excellent organizational skills; Strong knowledge of workplace safety; Must possess/demonstrate strong Team Building Skills; Must be dynamic, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic; Must possess knowledge of computer troubleshooting, along with, knowledge of computer programs and research techniques available through the internet; Must have Driver’s License / access to a vehicle; First Aid would be an asset; Occupational Health and Safety Training would be an asset; Salary is based on $413.00/week; Duties include: travel along the rail bed route to record the direction of the trail, travel to all communities to record information such as hotels, motels, B & B’s, gas stations, tourist chalets, etc which would be of interest to tourists and local residents who will travel the trail, design and develop the layout of the map using GIS symbols, report monthly and final reports.  Resumes, along with cover letter and 3 work related references must be received by 3:30 pm Friday, November 10, 2006.
